Simplify, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink – all buzz words about living in a responsible and earth-friendly way.  ELCMA will direct you on an immersion and self-discovery journey toward YOU determining what YOU can do to leave less of a carbon-imprint on our planet.  Topics and site visits will include:

·         Self-care

·         Renewable energy

·         Responsible shopping

·         Local food purchases

·         “Green”  community development

·         Advocacy

Cap off the immersion by attending an Appalachian Heritage Celebration, revisiting our roots of individuality, creativity and independence which are supportive of the sustainability campaign.

Costs:  $195 includes meals beginning with lunch on Tuesday and ending with lunch on

Sunday and housing Tuesday evening through Saturday evening.  Transportation during the immersion is also included*

     

*Note:  You will be housed with members of Lutheran congregations who will be compensated for meals and transportation costs.  However, participants are encouraged to bring three small (perhaps handmade) gifts representative of your area for your host families.
